Diversify your home business

Over the past three months I have become intrigued with network marketing businesses. I thought I would share with you my latest thoughts and perhaps you may find these to help you too. 

There are more bad stories than good when it comes to network marketing businesses, but only because of poor business planning not to mention illegal, fraudulent situations as well.

That does not make network marketing businesses bad. If you have encountered bad situations, think of it like a stock. If your stock goes down or you find that it is not earning as expected, you sell the stock and move along to another stock. 

Accept that you may have made a mistake in your decisions or you may have been mis-lead by the prospectus, but would you really stop buying stocks?

Network marketing businesses are just that. They are a business. You are the sales person and if you want an income you have to sell the product, the business and maintain your clients. 

Your clients are your down line and as in any business in order for your clients to keep buying you will need to educate, support and maintain the relationship. Without the education, support and maintenance of the relationship you can count on your clients leaving.

Take for instance my International Galleries (IGI) business, which has some very interesting methods to secure clients described within the below.

Off-Line

Can you sell your product or business offline through other business partners? While I cannot speak for your particular business, with IGI we have the ability of reaching out to local frame stores. Since we are in the art industry, everyone from a homeowner to businesses fill their walls with paintings. 

The frame shop not only can refer retail sales, earn 5%, but also the client they referred will need to have the paintings framed and will most likely go back to the same frame-shop. (If you didn’t know, IGI paintings are shipped securely in a tube with certificate).

Cold Market (Purchase Leads)

You have to include the possibility of purchasing leads of individuals seeking a home based business or secondary income. It is one of the methods. Yes, these are indeed cold calls.

Warm Market (friends, family, business associates, and local market)

Reach out to people whose lives you have touched. If you truly believe in your business and they trust you, consider approaching these folks to engage in your business. Hold a seminar is a local coffee shop and put a ad in the local paper.

Many network marketing businesses provide you with your own website however, this website usually cannot be modified and you have no control on how to best market this website. Create a Landing Page! It’s a website at a different location, under a different domain name. Consider free website hosting companies on the web. 

Your landing page will give you control on how to market, what to say and allow you to still point your prospects to your company site.

The company site tends to lack direction, explain why and contact methods from prospects are not very reliable. Besides we are trying to build a business of longevity with full retention of our “clients”, which requires more than merely a company website for education and support.
